Apparently someone at BART has the job of not only maintaining a Twitter account, but also keeping tabs on other twittererererz who talk about BART.
Then he actually posted it as a news article on…
dude, jesse - april’s tweet is in that article: “i get a kick out of the new ‘bike space’ stencil on @SFbart. Of course the outline is a fixed gear bike!”
i *knew* it sounded familiar!

Hello,
I have a great fixed gear bicycle with yellow tires and weird pictures in the spokes. Comes with tight grey jeans (28 inch waist), Yassir Arafat-type scarf, fake RayBans that say “Newport” on the stems, faded Radar O’Reilly cap, battered messenger bag with a Filth patch, and I’ll even throw in a maroon Members Only jacket. (Will consider trade for a weekly DJ night at The Attic.) Bike and outfit can be seen at Dolores Park on Saturday, near the bathrooms. Cheers.
” —I was on a panel at Bandwith Conference last week and the ‘who is going to play The Staples Center in five years?’ question came up again. I answered (again), ‘who the fuck wants to see a show at The Staples Center?’
Ian Rogers

I wish we were in the process of electing a Supreme-Commander-Of-All-The-Music-Industry, because Ian could be our Obama. (via via fred-wilson)

i was at this panel. and i agree with ian.
the broken west - “perfect games” (new)
now or heaven out 9/9 on merge.
i love fleetwood mac - squeeee!
the stills - “don’t talk down”
this is the way to start a record off, in my humble opinion.
dammit, buzz beat me to posting this song! my love affair w/ logic will break your heart is very similar to buzz’s so i won’t go into details - i still listen to that album on a biweekly basis. so good. when rick & i saw them at SXSW this year some of the newer tracks were promising, so i was psyched to see what they’d come up with this go round…
i’ll refrain from making any grand statements regarding the new record, but i do enjoy this song ever so much. i’ve been listening to the first half of oceans will rise on repeat since wednesday, the second half of the record? i need to give it a little more time…however, i still love the stills. haha - STILL(s)! durrrrrrr.
The Stills: “Snow in California”
I listened to the first Stills album voraciously. It was one of the first big albums I found my way to after Britpop hit the skids (1997-2000 or being pretty much the peak of my music fandom), and it’s easy to see why: the Montreal natives’ music seemed to be cut from the same cloth as the bands I followed from afar through the NME website. I remember listening to it a lot on my original 5 GB iPod during my last trip to the UK in 2003 and thinking it was the perfect soundtrack for riding the London Underground.
I also enjoyed the second Stills album, which had a surprisingly warmer “Bringing it All Back Home” feel to it, but despite my initial enthusiasm for a few of the songs, I never really developed quite the love affair with it that I had with “Logic Will Break Your Heart.” If anything this ambivalent impression has only increased as the album has aged.
With this in mind, I (like everyone else) greeted the Stills’ third album, “Oceans Will Rise,” warily. Would it be a triumphant return to edgy form or was the band’s more wishy-washy stylistic shift permanent? The jury’s still our for me. I can say that not much seems to jump out at me initially, with one notable exception: “Snow in California,” which recalls the greatness of “Logic” with its cool, sparse production, simple, angular guitar riffs, and lush, dreamy vocals. I’ve been listening to this one on repeat for days now, and I suspect it will remain a classic for me even if the rest of the album never quite catches up.
Dear Buzz,
My first listen around on this album, I marked this song IMMEDIATELY. It’s that good. Thank you for sharing and allowing me the pleasure of reblogging. Also, thank you for sharing your history with The Stills. Give the album another go, eh? There are a couple other great tracks.
XO,
April
wiksten is a clothing line made by jenny gordy and ohmigosh it is adorable! also, she has a really cute blog that i may or may not have read in it’s near entirety.
i think i have an internet girl crush on her now. she’s so pretty! and i wish i could rock bangs like she can (straight across bangs don’t look good on me, curses!) girlcrushes aside, i am also now yearning for a wiksten of my very own - perhaps the tova dress? (see?!? so ali-appropriate!)
all i want to do is embed a video of my favourite hall & oates song “i can’t go for that (no can do)” & talk about how last night’s concert was magnificent (and yes, they played that song), but every friggin’ video on the youtubes says “embedding disabled by request”! by the request of whom? certainly not my hall & oates, sir! ugh.
